Step 1: Welcome to the farm
2 minutes
Introduce the farm theme. Ask children which animals they might find on a farm and invite them to make a familiar animal sound. Explain that the songs will explore animal sounds, letters, counting and colours.
Take a musical trip to the farm with four Snappy Singalong songs. Children can explore animal sounds, sing the alphabet, count farm animals from 1 to 10 and discover colours through repetition, movement and playful listening. Finish with a farm-themed printable activity to reinforce a skill introduced in the songs.
Watch the song together, then follow the activities below.

4 minutes
Play the Sounds on the Farm section of the compilation. Encourage children to listen for each animal and copy its sound, including the cow, duck, sheep, pig, horse, chicken, rooster, goat, donkey, turkey and goose. Include the tractor sound too. Invite children to tap their feet or move along with the repeated refrain.
4 minutes
Use the Moo, Baa, ABC section to explore letters and their associated words. Encourage children to join in with the alphabet where they can, copy the animal sounds and perform the actions in the chorus. Invite older or more confident children to identify a letter or name an object beginning with it.
5 minutes
Play the Counting on the Farm and Colors on the Farm sections, pausing between songs if helpful. Count along with the animals from one to ten, then name colours from the song, such as red apples, yellow chicks, green grass and pink pigs. Invite children to find matching colours in the room or point to familiar objects.
3 minutes
Choose one activity from the printable pack that matches the group's needs. Children might count animals, match animals to sounds, match letters to animals, find hidden chicks or complete an animal pattern. Younger children can point, name or match with adult support instead of writing numbers or letters.
2 minutes
Ask children to name a farm animal, make its sound, count a few objects or identify a colour. Finish by repeating a favourite action from the compilation and celebrating what the children noticed or learned.
Children have explored farm animals and their sounds, alphabet words, counting and colours through a four-song compilation. A selected printable activity provides extra practice in one area. Teachers can revisit individual songs in later sessions to give children more time to practise each concept.
Continue the lesson with the matching activity sheets.
